Product Anomaly: NOAA-21 CrIS SDR Anomaly

Topic: NOAA-21 CrIS SDR Anomaly

Date/Time Issued: March 3, 2025 1445Z

Product(s) or Data Impacted:  NOAA-21 CrIS SDR and derived products

Date/Time of Initial Impact: March 2, 2025, 1800Z

Date/Time of Expected End: TBD

Length of Outage: TBD

Details/Specifics of Change:

NOAA-21 CrIS laser wavelength directly readout from the SDR products has

been set at as the predefined filled value (670nm, 1550 nm, 2320 nm) since around 18:00 of

2025-03-02, resulting in large bias of radiance produces of all three bands

However, the laser wavelength directly calculated from the RDR

engineering packet is nominal.

The Cal/val team is investigating the root cause of the issue.
