Detail:During future OLCI Lunar Calibrations for both Sentinel-3A and Sentinel-3B starting on 26/01/2024, a new SRAL calibration sequence will be executed. This will involve a long-duration (~10 mins) CAL1 SAR observation, followed by a CAL2 observation and another long-duration CAL1 SAR observation. This will be executed during the SRAL outage periods associated with the Lunar Calibration manoeuvres, so no additional outage will be introduced.

Detail:The Metop-B satellite with GOME-2 on-board is currently in drifting orbit. As a consequence there are periods during which the GOME-2 instrument is not able to carry out its daily solar calibration measurement. The second such period will be from 18 December 2024 to 18 March 2025. During this period, the solar mean reference spectrum provided in the Metop-B GOME-2 level-1B product will be replaced by a modelled solar spectrum using information on solar activity from Metop-C. Therefore, it is expected that the quality of both level-1B and level-2 products might undergo slight changes during this period, and there will be an associated risk of degraded product quality for Metop-B GOME-2 products.

Detail:EUMETSAT has activated a third transponder on EUMETCast Europe for the High Volume Service 3 (HVS-3). This transponder is intended for data from MTG-S1, EPS-SG/A1, and other future missions once operational. Currently, Meteosat-12 data are being replicated on HVS-3 as test dissemination and will be available there until the end of June 2025. Users can request access to HVS-3 now to test their reception chain, by contacting our User Helpdesk. For full details, see the link provided below.
