Satellite Source: Sentinel 1A Mode: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV Resolution: 5x20 meter Image Date & Time: 06-08-2018 0018 UTC Confidence: Medium-High Issue Date: 06-08-2018 Region: Gulf of Mexico Location: 2813'11" N, 9247'39" W Coverage Area: 1.18 km^2 Remarks: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. It was connected to an oil facility and stretched southeast for approximately 5 nmi with an average width of .07 nmi. The anomaly very slightly widened with increasing distance lending support that it was a discharge. The edges were moderately diffuse. Winds were from the west at 10kts. Uncertainties: Since the edges appeared moderately diffuse, it's possible the anomaly composition might have been something other than oil.
