IMAGE DATE: 05-30-2019
IMAGE TIME: 1536 UTC
DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A
MODE: Multispectral
RESOLUTION: 10 meter
LOCATION: 40°06'02" N/69°55'03" W
AREA: 0.26 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020)
CONFIDENCE: High
REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly measured 3.27 NM in length and 0.08 NM in width. Winds were 5 kts out of the East.

Confidence that the anomaly seen was oil is High. The anomaly had a silvery sheen in sun glint and many sharp unnatural turns with well defined edges. The anomaly appears to have originated from Wreck 1487, a known repeat leak source, and the wind data from the time of the image supports this.

UNCERTAINTIES:
The full extent of the anomaly could not be determined because it was partially concealed by heavy cloud cover.
