REPORT DATE: 06-20-2022
REPORT TIME: 0050 UTC
REGION: GULF OF MEXICO
SUB REGION: N/A
AREA/BLOCK: SHIP SHOAL 291
IMAGE DATE: 06-19-2022
IMAGE TIME: 1638 UTC
DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2B
MODE: Multispectral
RESOLUTION: 10 meter
LOCATION: 28°16'29" N/91°05'34" W
AREA: 2.83 square kilometers
CONFIDENCE: High
REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The slick extended about 2.0 NM in length by around 1.3 NM wide at its widest point, had very good contrast with its background, and had silvery sheen consistent with thicker oil. Additionally, the slick emanated from a repeat leak source "Mon Forte" and was the subject of numerous MPSR and NRC reports. Winds were out of the NE at 10 KT at the time of the image. Considering the above factors, we have HIGH confidence in this assessment.

UNCERTAINTIES: None.
