REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was located near the West Delta area 2 NM off the coast of Louisiana, and measured approximately 2.2 NM long and .25 NM at its widest. The anomaly did not resemble natural phenomena and bright, silvery patches were visible throughout, indicating thicker oil. Winds were from the southeast at about 8 kn.

UNCERTAINTIES: A point source was difficult to identify but there were multiple wells and pipelines in the area. The full extent of possible oil may be greater than pictured, as the image extent was limited and clipped the anomaly at the south end. Clouds and cloud shadows also obscured the full extent of possible oil.
