REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was in the South Pass area and Garden Island Bay, likely related to NOAA ResponseLink Hotline 10964, an ongoing wellhead blowout identified as the point source in this report. The anomaly was approximately 4 NM long and 1 NM across at its widest.  Winds were from SE at 14 kt.

UNCERTAINTIES: False positives from biogenic and natural phenomena are prevalent in the area, as seen in near-coincident optical data, recent related NESDIS MPSR/NRC reports  and ResponseLink updates which have suggested the possible oil is situated mainly to the NW of the wellhead.
