SMOKE: New Jersey… The ongoing Jones Road wildfire in eastern New Jersey was observed producing light smoke this morning that was moving off toward the east-southeast. Light to moderate remnant smoke from this fire can also be seen to the south over the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay eastward out over the Atlantic Ocean. There may perhaps be some light remnant smoke south of Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts just off the eastern edge of Long Island. The remnant smoke was moving southwestward. Florida… Seasonal burning near Lake Okeechobee in southern Florida was observed producing light smoke plumes that were moving west-northwestward. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Central and Southern Mexico / Gulf of America / Central Texas / Pacific Ocean… An area of light to moderate smoke from seasonal and prescribed burns and aerosol from industrial sources across southern Mexico was observed blanketing an area from the Tropical Eastern Pacific and Cuba to the Great Plains and southeastern CONUS. The thickest of the aerosol layer resides over the western Gulf of America, the coastal plain of eastern Mexico, southern Mexico, and offshore into the tropical Eastern Pacific.
